Le modèle noir (The "black model"). From Géricault to Matisse, to the Musée d'Orsay until 21st of july 2019.
The Musée d'Orsay is hosting a temporary exhibition entitled "The black model of Géricault à Matisse". Dedicated to the representation of black figures in the visual arts (painting, sculpture, engraving, photography), this exhibition highlights works dating from the era of the abolition of slavery in France (1794-1848) until post-war and contemporary currents.
